The Australian airline is preparing for a historic milestone in commercial aviation. Qantas plans to launch direct flights from Sydney to London and New York, which will be the longest nonstop commercial flights in history.
The new routes operated by Qantas are expected to last as long as 22 hours. Such a long flight time will allow passengers to see up to two sunrises during a single flight. These will be the longest non-stop commercial flights in history, connecting Australia directly with Europe and North America.
The new routes will significantly reduce travel time between continents. By eliminating stopovers, the planes will be able to save passengers about four hours compared to current routes that require refueling halfway through the journey.
