Dubai has once again confirmed its global leadership in urban innovation. In the latest Smart City Index 2026, compiled by the International Institute for Management Development, the city ranked 6th globally and 1st in the region.
Dubai’s ranking in the prestigious Smart City Index 2026 confirms its dynamic growth as one of the world’s most technologically advanced cities. The emirate has not only maintained its high position but also strengthened its reputation as a hub for modern urban solutions.
Such a high ranking is the result of a consistent development strategy based on the integration of cutting-edge technologies, the expansion of digital infrastructure, and the implementation of smart urban services. For years, Dubai has been investing in smart city solutions that improve the daily lives of residents and enhance the comfort of tourists.
Dubai took first place in the region, ahead of other developing cities in the Middle East. Interestingly, Abu Dhabi rounds out the top ten of the ranking, highlighting the growing role of the United Arab Emirates as a hub of innovation.
