Iraq is returning to normal air traffic operations. The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority has announced the reopening of its airspace and the resumption of operations at all airports after a 40-day break.
The decision ends a 40-day suspension of air traffic, which was directly linked to the outbreak of armed conflict in the region. During this time, both flights over the country’s territory and air operations were completely suspended for security reasons.
Iraqi authorities have confirmed that all airports in the country are returning to normal operations. This means the resumption of both domestic and international flights, which is crucial for transportation and the economy. According to a statement from the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority, all civil operations have been authorized.
