Poznan will have a new railway station

Poznan is preparing for one of the most important transport investments in the coming years. By 2035, the capital of Greater Poland will gain a new, modern railway station, which is expected to significantly improve the comfort of travel and the functioning of one of the key transport hubs in Poland.

On Friday, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe and the authorities of Poznan signed an agreement on preparations for the implementation of this key investment. The document provides for joint planning and organizational activities that are to lead to the creation of a new railway station that meets contemporary standards.

The new facility will be built above the platforms and on the site of the existing island station building. This solution is intended to improve accessibility, streamline passenger traffic, and better integrate rail with other modes of urban and long-distance transport.

After modernization, the railway station in Poznań will have nine platforms, which will significantly increase its capacity and ability to serve a growing number of passengers. The investment is also expected to improve the aesthetics of the space and the comfort of travelers using one of the most important points on the country's railway map.
