New bike paths are being built in Dubai

Dubai is continuing to expand its cycling infrastructure, announcing the completion of 13 new bike paths. The city is steadily expanding its network of bike paths to encourage residents and tourists to lead an active lifestyle.

The newly created 13 bike routes are part of a larger project that includes a total of 15 new routes with a combined length of 162 km. As a result, the total length of bike routes in Dubai has reached 636 km, significantly improving accessibility and comfort for cyclists.

Dubai is well on its way to achieving its ambitious goal of creating 1,000 km of dedicated bike paths by 2030. The expansion of the network is not limited to designating new sections but also includes integrating existing routes to create a cohesive and convenient bike network throughout the city.

The project involves connecting existing routes at strategic points in Dubai, including:

  • from Al Khawaneej to Al Mamzar Beach,
  • from Al Warqa’a to Saih Al Salam,
  • from Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) to Jumeirah.
