The Irish airline has decided to close its operational base at Berlin Brandenburg Airport at the end of the 2026 summer season.
The end of the 2026 summer season will also mark the end of Ryanair’s operational base at Berlin Airport. Seven based aircraft will disappear, and the range of routes on offer will suffer significantly. The confirmed date for the closure of the Irish airline’s base at Berlin Brandenburg Airport is 24 October 2026. The consequences? Half as many flights as in the 2026/27 winter season, meaning fewer options for local passengers. This is a real blow for fans of budget flying. Why is this happening? As industry websites point out, the main reasons are operating costs and German charging policies, which the Irish airline’s management finds unacceptable.
