The launch of the new direct route from Vietnam to Europe has been delayed. VietJet Air’s route from Hanoi to Prague will not commence as planned in July, but in October.
A month ago, the Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet Air announced its entry into the European market and the launch of a route from the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, to Prague. The flights were to be operated with a stopover in Kazakhstan, specifically in Almaty, yet still be classified as direct, and were due to commence on 11 July. However, this potentially popular route is facing issues. Passengers will have to wait a little longer for it to start. As the editorial team at Pasażer.com has learnt, the launch of the route has been postponed until October 2026, and the airline’s booking system still shows no tickets, flight schedules, operating days or aircraft types for the service. We can only hope that by October, the only thing that will have changed is the availability of these tickets in the system, and that passengers from Central Europe will gain a convenient connection to Vietnam at reasonable prices.
