LOT Polish Airlines has brought forward the launch of its flagship route to the Thai capital from late October to early October this year. What are the details?
At the end of December last year, we reported that Poland’s national airline, LOT Polish Airlines, would launch a direct service from Warsaw to Bangkok. Flights from Chopin Airport to the Thai capital were due to operate from 26 October 2026 five times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with return flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. As for the days on which the flights will operate, nothing will change, but the start date of the route will. LOT will fly from Warsaw to Bangkok as early as three weeks earlier – from 7 October.
In an interview with the Pasażer.com website, PLL LOT’s press spokesman, Krzysztof Moczulski, said: “Bangkok is selling so well that we saw the potential to launch this route earlier. Thailand is an extremely popular destination among Poles. We can also see that passengers appreciate the option of a direct flight.” Undoubtedly, it must also be acknowledged that the difficult situation in the Middle East, uncertainty regarding transfer hubs, and a greater preference for direct flights due to fears of airspace closures must have contributed to this decision.
