Good news for travelers planning an exotic vacation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has lowered the travel advisory level for three popular tourist destinations: Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Nepal.
Until now, a Level 3 travel advisory was in effect for these countries, meaning “we advise against non-essential travel.” It has now been lowered to level two – “exercise special caution.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ decision means that the situation has been deemed more stable, which may encourage tourists to plan their trips.
The lowering of the warning level signals that trips to Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Nepal are now easier to plan. Despite the easing of warnings, travelers should remain vigilant, especially during layovers in Gulf countries, which often serve as key transit hubs for travel to Asia.
