Heraklion, the capital of Crete

From May 30, LOT Polish Airlines will launch a route from Warsaw to Heraklion. Flights to Crete will operate three times a week: on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

LOT Polish Airlines is adding another holiday destination to its flight network. LOT has announced the launch of a new connection from Poland to Greece. We will fly from Warsaw-Chopin to Heraklion, the capital of the island of Crete. Flights will operate from May 30, 2026, with a frequency of three rotations per week: on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays. This is the fourth Greek destination in the Polish air line's flight schedule, after Athens, Thessaloniki, and Preveza. The connection will be operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, and the one-way flight will take approximately 2 hours and 55 minutes.

Heraklion from Warsaw directly on board LOT may turn out to be a hit. Greece has long been very popular among Polish tourists, but more and more of them are choosing to spend their holidays in Crete. It is precisely these customers that LOT Polish Airlines is targeting. All that remains is to wait for the results and compare the occupancy rates of charter flights and low-cost airlines during the summer season.
