Gdańsk Airport has decided to purchase modern security scanners, and the 100 ml liquids limit in hand luggage is to be lifted as early as July this year.

An increasing number of airports in the European Union are abandoning the 100 ml limit on liquids in hand luggage. In Poland, for example, passengers do not have to worry about this issue and can carry containers or bottles with a maximum capacity of 2 litres in their hand luggage at airports in Krakow and Poznań, and the liquid limit has also been lifted at airports such as Malta, London Heathrow, Milan-Bergamo, Dublin, Rome Fiumicino and Milan-Malpensa. Now, a change awaits passengers in Gdańsk.

Most likely in July 2026, travellers from Gdańsk airport will say goodbye to the 100 ml limit on liquids in hand luggage. The end of miniature cosmetics and expensive water (I recommend your own bottle and water dispensers!) will come thanks to the decision and purchase of modern security scanners. This will eliminate the need to put cosmetics in special bags, the above-mentioned liquid limit, which will now be 2 litres, and the need to remove electronics from luggage. Initially, two scanners will be installed, with a target of 12. Their installation will speed up the security screening process and will certainly please many travellers.
