Emirates has promoted two experienced female pilots to the rank of captain: Hanan Mohammed Jawad and Bakhita Al Mheiri. This is a first in the airline’s history.
Two outstanding and experienced pilots have joined the ranks of captains in Emirates’ flight crews. We are talking about Hanan Mohammed Jawad and Bakhita Al Mheiri, who have earned their places through hard work, but who also demonstrate the growing influence of women from the United Arab Emirates on the national aviation industry. This has been made possible by the forward-looking National Cadet Pilot Programme. Passengers will be able to spot the fourth stripe on the uniforms of the new female captains on board Emirates’ Boeing 777s on routes around the world.
