Stay in Sicily for 1 euro - surprising idea from an Italian town

Imagine a holiday where accommodation, food and sightseeing cost a symbolic 1 euro. Sounds unbelievable? And yet! A small town in Sicily, Siculiana, has decided to offer a group of lucky travellers a long weekend for this symbolic amount.

To qualify for this unique promotion, all you have to do is pay the tourist tax of 1 euro. In return, participants will receive full accommodation, meals and guided tours of the most important attractions in the area. The campaign aims to promote the region outside the tourist season and attract new visitors.

Those interested in participating must meet several conditions. The following is required:

  • be at least 18 years old,
  • apply as a pair (e.g. with a friend, spouse or parent),
  • submit a short video explaining your motivation for participating in the programme.

The application should also include your name, age, city of residence and contact details (telephone and e-mail).

Interested parties can submit their applications until 15 March and the Tourism Committee will carry out the evaluation. The lucky ones who pass the selection will enjoy an unforgettable stay in Sicily in Siculiana – a real travel opportunity for next to nothing!
