According to the Rynek Kolejowy.pl portal, PKP Intercity intends to launch a railway connection from Poland to Croatia. The route would run through the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovenia.
How many times have we heard in the Polish media that THIS SUMMER trains will definitely run from Poland to Croatia? The plans of different airlines never came to fruition, but now the situation may be different. During a meeting of the parliamentary infrastructure committee, PKP Intercity revealed plans to launch a rail connection from Poland to Croatia, specifically to the city of Rijeka. The train would depart from Warsaw and pass through Poland (Opoczno Południe, Włoszczowa Północ, Katowice), the Czech Republic (Ostrava, Brzecław), Austria (Vienna, Graz), Slovenia (Maribor, Ljubljana) and enter Croatia (Rijeka). We do not know the exact date or whether the new connection will actually happen. We will have to wait for more details in the near future.
