Mandatory alcohol testing for pilots and flight attendants in Serbia

Serbia is introducing new, stringent aviation safety regulations. From January 1, cockpit and cabin crews operating both domestic and international flights must undergo mandatory blood alcohol testing.

Under the new regulations, all pilots and flight attendants operating flights within the territory of the Republic of Serbia will be subject to regular, mandatory alcohol testing. The regulations apply to personnel regardless of the nature of the flight and its range – this applies to both short domestic flights and international connections.

The Republic of Serbia has become one of the first countries in the region to introduce such a comprehensive system of sobriety checks for flight personnel. The aim of the new rules is to increase the safety of flight operations and further strengthen passenger confidence in air transport.
