Ukrainian airline SkyUP is returning to regular scheduled flights, with Moldova's capital Chisinau becoming its base of operations. SkyUP's return to flying is a response to the high interest in air travel among citizens of neighbouring Ukraine.
Ukrainian airline SkyUP is returning to the aviation skies, and not just to perform charter flights for travel agencies. SkyUp will once again operate scheduled flights, with Moldova's Chisinau airport becoming the operating base for the Ukrainian airline. According to the Rynek Lotniczy, to begin with the airline will operate flights to Larnaca in Cyprus, Paris, three Spanish destinations: Mallorca, Alicante and Barcelona, Lisbon and to Thessaloniki and Crete.
Russia's full-scale criminal aggression against Ukraine has completely closed the skies over Ukraine. After almost 3 years of war, the conflict has completely changed its face and there is a growing interest in air travel among Ukrainians. Due to the inability to fly from their country, Ukrainian citizens often fly from neighbouring countries: Poland, Slovakia, Hungary or just Moldova, where, due to territorial proximity, eligible Ukrainian citizens can take advantage of airline offers. This is why SkyUp Airlines has decided to fly from Chisinau.
