From 1 January 2026, every traveller will have to show proof of travel insurance for the duration of their trip to Georgia when crossing the border. Failure to do so may result in being denied entry to the country.
The Georgian authorities are changing the entry regulations for tourists. From 1 January 2026, every traveller to Georgia will have to show proof of travel insurance covering the duration of their stay when crossing the border. Failure to do so will result in refusal of entry into Georgia. However, there is no need to worry, because if someone forgets to purchase insurance, it will be possible to do so at the border (although it will most likely be more expensive than purchasing insurance before the trip). The minimum amount of travel insurance must be 30,000 GEL (approx. 41,000 PLN). Border guards will accept policies presented on travellers' smartphones.
