Abu Dhabi is investing in autonomous transportation. A new fleet of driverless taxis has arrived on Yas Island, and passengers can test them completely free of charge for the first month. This marks another step by the capital of the United Arab Emirates toward modern transportation solutions.
Initially, five autonomous taxis owned by Autogo, a subsidiary of the technology company K2, will operate on Yas Island. The vehicles have hit the roads following successful tests and are ready to carry passengers. In the future, there are plans to expand the service to other islands so that even more residents and tourists can take advantage of autonomous transportation.
For the first month, the taxis will be free to use, allowing passengers to experience the benefits of autonomous vehicles and gain confidence in their safety and comfort. Taxis can be ordered via the AutoGo app, available on the Android and Apple App Store, making it easy to access the new service quickly and conveniently.
