The Irish low-cost airline will discontinue its “Ryanair Prime” loyalty program after only 8 months of operation. Current members will retain their benefits for another year.
A few days ago, Ryanair announced quite unexpectedly that it would discontinue its loyalty program called Ryanair Prime. The paid benefits system had been in operation for only eight months and will now become history. What was Ryanair Prime? It was a loyalty program offered by Ryanair, which, for €79, guaranteed access to exclusive discounts on airline tickets, free seat selection on the plane, and travel insurance.
Although opinions about Ryanair's loyalty program were divided, with negative opinions prevailing, the airline decided to discontinue Ryanair Prime, claiming that the program brought the airline more losses than profits. It is no longer possible to join the program, and current members will retain their subscription until the end of October this year.
