One of the world's top airports, Singapore's Changi Airport will begin the long-awaited construction of a major new Terminal 5 in 2025.
Singapore's Changi Airport has topped the ranking of the world's best airports twice, in 2020 and 2023. Its functionality, futuristic design and numerous attractions have delighted passengers for years. Now the airport in the city-state will undergo an expansion and receive a new fifth airport terminal.
The first construction work is expected to start in the first half of 2025. Construction is expected to be completed by 2033 or 2034 and increase Changi Airport's capacity by about 25%. The new building is to be connected to the other terminals and facilitate the smooth movement of passengers between terminals. Terminal 5 will be built on what is known as Changi East, an area almost the size of the rest of the airport. The Singapore government has begun working with top domestic companies to increase the quality of the investment.
