Starting in May, tourists visiting Salzburg will be able to enjoy free public transport! The new solution aims not only to improve the comfort of travellers, but also to promote sustainable transport in one of Austria's most beautiful cities.
To take advantage of free travel, all you need to do is register at a tourist accommodation in Salzburg. Guests will receive a Guest Mobility Ticket, which will be issued at the hotel reception in printed or electronic form. The ticket will allow unlimited use of public transport throughout your stay.
The introduction of free travel will be financed by a new mobility charge of 50 euro cents. This charge will become part of the existing tourist tax. The funds collected will be used not only to cover the cost of tickets for tourists, but also to develop public transport in Salzburg.
