New minimum recharge amount for Nol card in Dubai is now in effect
Starting August 17, passengers using public transportation in Dubai face higher costs for recharging their Nol cards.
This is another change introduced by the RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) this year. In January, the fee for topping up a Nol card was raised from 5 dirhams to 20 dirhams, and now by another few dozen dirhams.

The minimum amount that can be charged to the card at ticket counters at metro stations has increased from the previous 20 dirhams to 50 dirhams.
It is worth noting, however, that this increase only applies to those who reload their cards directly at ticket counters at metro stations. Those who prefer to recharge online can continue to enjoy the existing rates.
The RTA also reminds that passengers using the Dubai Metro should have a balance of at least 15 dirhams on their Nol card to cover the cost of a round trip.
