More and more airlines are suspending flights to Venezuela following the latest warning from the US authorities about the growing threat in the airspace. The reasons include deteriorating security conditions, including increased military activity and disruptions to satellite navigation systems.
The United States has issued a statement warning carriers against flying over Venezuela. According to US services, there is increased military activity in the region, which may pose a real risk to civil aviation. The situation is further complicated by growing disruptions to satellite navigation systems, which make it difficult to plan and monitor routes safely.
Many international carriers quickly responded to the US statement. LATAM and TAP Air Portugal were among the first to cancel their flights from Caracas, emphasizing that passenger safety is a priority.
Iberia also joined this group, announcing the suspension of flights to Caracas until further notice. The Spanish airline noted that the decision will remain in force until the situation in the region stabilizes.
