On 8 April, Bahrain fully reopened its airspace to all civil aviation operations. Bahrain’s airspace had been closed or partially closed since 28 February.
After a break of over a month, Bahrain has decided to fully reopen its airspace to civilian aviation operations. This follows the closure/partial closure of the airspace on 28 February 2026, which was triggered by the US-Israel coalition’s attack on Iran and Iran’s retaliatory strikes against Gulf states.
The resumption of flights in Bahrain was made possible by a two-week ceasefire. Flights operated by Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air and other airlines via Manama Airport will be gradually resumed, with priority given to local airlines.
