Aegean Airlines cancels flights from Thessaloniki to Warsaw

Plans to launch a new connection between Warsaw and Thessaloniki will not come to fruition. The Greek national carrier, Aegean Airlines, has withdrawn from the route, and direct flights have already disappeared from the airline's booking system.

The new route was to connect Warsaw with Greece's second largest city, Thessaloniki. The flights were scheduled to commence on March 31 this year and were to operate twice a week.

Ultimately, however, the carrier decided not to launch the connection, and the route was removed from the flight network. This means that direct flights between the Polish capital and northern Greece will not be available in the coming season.

Thessaloniki is a popular tourist destination and a gateway to the Chalkidiki region and the Greek Aegean coast. The lack of a direct connection means that travelers will have to make a transfer or choose alternative airports or airlines.
