A surprising incident occurred at JFK airport in New York. A woman without a ticket managed to board a Delta Air Lines flight and take a seven-hour flight to Paris. The situation was only discovered after landing at Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The woman, despite not having a boarding pass, went through the security checkpoint and bypassed two identity verification stations. On board the plane, she sat down in one of the seats, even though all the seats had been pre-booked. Throughout the flight, in order to remain unnoticed, she hid in the on-board lavatory.
It was only after a safe landing in the French capital that the crew noticed there was an unauthorised female passenger on board. Passengers were asked to remain in their seats and French law enforcement agencies swung into action.
Delta Air Lines issued a statement stressing that safety is their absolute priority. A thorough investigation is currently underway to determine how such a serious breach of procedures occurred.
