The Mazowieckie Province Governor has signed a location decision for the construction of a railway line leading to Warsaw-Modlin Airport. Work will begin in 2027 and is scheduled for completion in 2029.
Finally, there are concrete details regarding the direct rail connection to Modlin Airport. On 6 October, the Mazovian Province Governor signed a location decision enabling the construction of a railway line to Warsaw-Modlin Airport. Although the tracks to Modlin already exist, the train stops a few kilometres from the station, and the rest of the journey must be completed by bus, which only runs a few times an hour.
According to information provided by the Kocham Mazowsze portal, work is scheduled to begin in 2027, and the first passengers will arrive by train at Modlin Airport in 2029. The cost of the investment is PLN 256 million. As part of the project, the existing Modlin station will be expanded with an additional track and a 200-metre-long platform, and a new Modlin Airport railway station will be built near the existing roundabout, approximately 250 metres from the passenger terminal.
