Good news for everyone who travels frequently in Europe! On 15 May this year, new EU regulations will come into force, further reducing the cost of using mobile phones abroad.
The changes will apply to the entire European Union, as well as Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, i.e. all countries belonging to the European Economic Area (EEA). Under the new regulations, the cost of purchasing an additional 1 GB of data after using up the available limit will be EUR 1,61. This is a significant reduction, which aims to further facilitate access to mobile internet when travelling abroad.
We will also see savings on phone calls. A minute of a call from abroad to the EU will cost only EUR 0,021.
Thanks to lower roaming costs, European tourists, entrepreneurs and students will be able to use mobile services even more freely without worrying about high bills after returning home.
