Pakistan International Airlines has announced its return to European skies. The carrier will resume direct flights between Islamabad and Paris from 10 January 2025.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has officially announced the reinstatement of flights to Europe. Direct service between the Pakistani capital and Paris will begin on 10 January 2025. The decision to resume flights is an important step for the carrier, which last operated flights to Europe in 2020.
The new route to Paris will operate twice a week - on Fridays and Sundays. This is a key move to rebuild passenger confidence and grow PIA's international presence.
The interruption of flights was the result of a ban imposed by the European Union aviation authorities. The decision came after a 2020 plane crash near Karachi raised concerns about PIA's safety standards. The ban covered all EU member states, forcing the carrier to withdraw from the European market.
