From 30 September, Wizz Air will add a completely new route to its flight schedule. The Hungarian carrier will connect Larnaca, Cyprus, with Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia.
This is a completely new addition to Wizz Air's flight network. It is interesting and surprising because, looking at Shirak Airport in Gyumri, there is currently only one flight a day – operated by the low-cost Russian airline Pobeda to Moscow. Now, the second regular connection from Gyumri will be a Wizz Air flight to Larnaca in Cyprus. Flights to Armenia's second largest city will operate twice a week: on Tuesdays and Saturdays in October, and on Thursdays and Sundays for the rest of the winter season. Gyumri will be the second Armenian destination in Wizz Air's flight schedule after the capital, Yerevan.
