The European Commission has removed all carriers certified in Kyrgyzstan from the EU’s aviation safety list. This landmark decision ends a ban on flights to the European Union that has lasted nearly two decades.
For the past twenty years, airlines holding a certificate issued by the Kyrgyz aviation authorities have been barred from operating flights to EU member states. Now, all carriers have been removed from the EU “blacklist.”
The decision is the result of long-term efforts aimed at improving aviation safety oversight in the country and aligning standards with international requirements. The opening of the European market creates the opportunity to launch direct flights between Kyrgyzstan and European countries, which could have a positive impact on the development of tourism and business.
