A new golden metro line may be built in Dubai
Dubai is considering another expansion of its metro system. The city authorities may soon officially present a plan to build the Golden Metro Line, which is to connect key districts and housing estates, improving public transport in the developing areas of the emirate.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to select a consultant to oversee the planning and implementation of the Gold Line. Companies interested in collaborating include Aecom, Jacobs and Parsons, AtkinsRealis, Mott MacDonald and Systra - world leaders in transport engineering and urban infrastructure.
According to preliminary plans, the Gold Line would start in the Al Ghubaiba district of Bur Dubai and then run inland through Business Bay, Meydan, Global Village, all the way to the residential areas in Dubailand. This route could become a key link for residents of the rapidly developing districts and facilitate transport to popular business and leisure centres.
