ESTA to the US will increase in price from $21 to $40

The US authorities have decided to almost double the price of ESTA. What is ESTA? It is an electronic travel authorisation, which is necessary for participants in the visa waiver programme to the United States. Until 30 September, the old price for obtaining ESTA, i.e. $21, will remain in force. From 30 September this year, the cost of obtaining ESTA for the United States will be $40, which means an almost twofold increase in the fee.

The increase in the price of entry permits to the United States for citizens of countries that do not require visas is part of a broader plan by President Donald Trump's administration to boost the American budget. This time, US policy will directly affect foreign tourists. The increase also applies to Polish citizens, who since 2019 have not been required to obtain a visa to enter the United States, but only need an ESTA.
