Dubai Airport (DXB) has just been named the world's busiest international airport. According to an analysis by consultancy OAG, the UAE airport ranked first in terms of the number of seats offered on international flights.
OAG data shows that DXB offered as many as 60.2 million seats on international flights in 2024. This is a significant lead over second-placed London Heathrow, which recorded 48.3 million seats. In third place was Seoul Incheon International Airport.
This result confirms Dubai's position as one of the most important global aviation hubs. Thanks to its strategic location and rapidly growing route network, DXB remains a key hub airport for travellers from Europe, Asia, Africa and America.
Dubai Airport has maintained a leading position in international air traffic for years. With the expansion of the Emirates fleet and the growing popularity of the UAE as a tourist and business destination, DXB is not slowing down and is consolidating its dominance in global aviation.
