Wizz Air is changing the destination airport for its route from Krakow to Bucharest. From 15 January, the Hungarian airline's planes will no longer fly to the main airport Otopeni, but to Bucharest-Baneasa Airport.
Important changes for Polish passengers flying from Krakow to Bucharest. The Wizz Air airline has changed the destination airport for flights from Krakow in its timetable. From 15 January, Wizz Air planes will no longer land at the main airport in the Romanian capital Bucharest-Otopeni. Instead, the Hungarian airline will fly to Bucharest-Baneana Airport.
This will not be the first route to this airport from Poland. Wizz Air has already announced the launch of a service to Bucharest-Baneana Airport from Warsaw-Chopin from 9 June. Is this better or worse for passengers from Poland? From a passenger perspective: Bucharest-Baneana Airport is closer to the city centre and less crowded. This means a shorter commute to the centre of Bucharest and smaller crowds at the airport. How it will be in practice, we will find out on 15 January after the first flight from Krakow to the smaller Bucharest airport, opened after a 10-year break.
