Good news for passengers departing from Warsaw. Chopin Airport is preparing for revolutionary changes in security control. Thanks to new technologies, the liquid limit in hand luggage may be increased to up to two liters.
The changes will be possible thanks to the installation of new, advanced carry-on baggage scanners that allow for thorough analysis of the contents of suitcases without the need to remove liquids. This solution is already known from selected airports in Europe and around the world, and significantly improves passenger check-in.
After the implementation of the new system, the liquid limit at Chopin Airport will be increased to 2 liters, which means the end of restrictive rules regarding small containers and transparent bags. This is a particularly important change for passengers traveling from Warsaw on longer routes, including to the Middle East.
The airport plans to install 15 modern hand luggage scanners, which are to be installed before the start of the 2026 summer season. Thanks to this, passengers will be able to take advantage of the new facilities even during the peak holiday season.
