The number of days on which admission fees will be charged to visit the historic centre of Venice will increase from 54 to 60. It is not known whether the fee amount will change.
Venice is extending the number of days with a fee for visiting the historic city centre in 2026. When the system was launched in 2024, visitors had to pay for 29 days to visit Venice. In 2025, it will be 54 days, and in 2026, it will be 60 days. The city authorities have not yet announced the amount of the fee, but it is likely to remain unchanged: €5 for advance booking and €10 for on-site payment. The exact calendar of paid days has not yet been announced, but they will mostly apply on public holidays, during the peak season and on weekends.
Reminder: a QR code confirming payment for visiting the historic centre of Venice is required on paid days from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The following are exempt from the fee: residents of Venice, children and people staying overnight in Venice. Failure to provide proof of payment may result in heavy fines.
