From January 1, 2026, Ukrainian residents will be able to use mobile phone services in European Union countries on the same terms as citizens of EU member states. Ukraine will officially join the EU's “Roam Like At Home” system, which has been facilitating travel in Europe for years.
The EU's “Roam Like At Home” program has been in place since 2017 and has completely eliminated additional charges for using mobile phones outside one's own country within the EU. From 2026, Ukrainian citizens will enjoy the same privileges – they will be able to make calls, send text messages and use the internet in EU countries at no extra cost.
Until now, the system covered EU member states and countries belonging to the European Economic Area. It will now be extended to Ukraine, which is another step towards the country's integration with EU standards. For millions of Ukrainians, this means not only savings, but also greater comfort when traveling in Europe.
