It's official: the UK government has confirmed that the cost of obtaining an ETA (electronic travel authorisation) will rise from £10 to £16 from 9 April. Travellers have a few days left to apply for the document at the old price.
Previous information about the ETA price increase, which we have reported on in recent weeks, has been confirmed. The only thing that has changed is the date of the increase. The UK government has confirmed that the price of an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) will increase from £10 to £16 from 9 April 2025. The old price of £10 will remain in place for a further two weeks.
ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) is a document that everyone travelling to the UK must have from 2 April 2025 (exceptions e.g. people with a registered address, students studying in the UK, etc.). The Electronic Travel Authorisation is valid for 2 years or until the expiry date of the passport.
