Tourists will pay more when entering New Zealand
Beginning October 1 this year, travelers to New Zealand will face a higher tourist fee.
According to Matty Doocey, head of New Zealand's Ministry of Tourism, the tax increase is a necessity in the face of rising costs of maintaining tourism infrastructure and rising prices. The additional fee revenue is expected to help maintain the standard of tourism facilities and ensure their proper operation.
Starting October 1 this year, travelers arriving in New Zealand will face a higher tourist fee. The new tourist tax rate will almost triple and will amount to 100 New Zealand dollars, or about 240 zlotys. This is a big change from the previous fee, which was only 35 New Zealand dollars.
The new tourist fee is designed to both support local attractions and offset the impact of the large influx of tourists.
