Public transport in Dubai is undergoing dynamic modernization. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the completion of 595 new bus stops in key parts of the emirate, bringing the project closer to completion.
As part of a wide-ranging program to modernize its public transport network, Dubai plans to build a total of 762 state-of-the-art bus stops. The commissioning of 595 of them means that the project is now at a very advanced stage.
The newly built stops have been designed to handle very high passenger volumes. In many locations, more than ten bus lines will be able to use a single point, which will significantly enhance the efficiency of the entire network.
Dubai is developing public transport in response to the growing needs of the city. More than 192 million passengers use buses in the emirate each year, and the expansion of the bus stop infrastructure is intended to provide them with more comfortable, safe, and punctual journeys.
