Anyone who has ever landed at Pyrzowice Airport knows that if you’re arriving from outside the Schengen area, you may face a long queue at passport control. This situation is set to change with the installation of fifteen automated border control gates.
Excellent news for all passengers flying from Katowice-Pyrzowice Airport. By the end of the year, automated border control gates are to be installed at Pyrzowice Airport for passengers arriving in Poland from outside the Schengen area. There will be 15 gates, which will significantly streamline the passport control process and improve passenger comfort and the airport’s throughput. The ABC (Automated Border Control) gates will be a godsend, particularly during the holiday season, as it is possible that the first ones will already be operational by this year’s holiday season. Passengers landing at Pyrzowice are well aware of the problem of long queues at passport control if arriving from outside the Schengen area. Those long, agonising minutes may soon be a thing of the past.
