Pakistan is preparing to launch its first international ferry service. Soon, passengers will be able to travel by sea from Karachi or Gwadar to the United Arab Emirates, Iran and other Persian Gulf countries.
The Pakistani authorities have confirmed plans to launch the country's first ever international ferry service. The new route is intended to facilitate travel for both tourists and people working abroad, especially in the Emirates and other GCC countries.
The new ferries will run from the Pakistani ports of Karachi and Gwadar to destinations in the Persian Gulf. These include the United Arab Emirates and Iran. The vessels are intended to be an affordable alternative to air travel and will feature comfortable seating and toilets.
Although the exact schedule has not yet been published, it is estimated that the crossing to the UAE will take approximately 24 hours, depending on the route and conditions. The ferries will offer a comfortable journey for those who are not in a hurry and want to save money or experience something new.
Work on the ferry terminals is nearing completion and the final formalities are being finalised. This means that the launch of the service may take place sooner than expected. The new connections have the potential to significantly improve transport links between Pakistan and the Gulf, as well as strengthening economic and tourist exchanges in the region.
