Starting in October this year, Wizz Air will launch a new direct connection from Poland to Romania: a route from Gdańsk to Bucharest.
The new route from Gdańsk to Bucharest will start on 27 October. Flights to Bucharest-Otopeni Airport will be operated twice a week: on Mondays and Fridays, which is an ideal schedule for planning a city break in the Romanian capital. Interestingly, this is already the fourth connection from Poland to Bucharest offered by Wizz Air: the Hungarian airline already flies to the Romanian capital from Krakow and Warsaw, and will soon launch flights from Wrocław. The only difference between these routes is that flights from Krakow, Warsaw and Wrocław are operated to Bucharest-Baneasa Airport, while flights from Gdańsk are operated to Bucharest-Otopeni, the main airport in the Romanian capital.
Does this mean that Wizz Air plans to introduce a trend in Poland for Romania and in Romania for Poland? This is not known. All we know is that northern Poland will gain an extremely important business connection with Bucharest and a very interesting new destination for tourists. Romanian passengers, on the other hand, will have access to the Polish seaside and the exciting tourist region of Pomerania.
