For most of the summer holiday season, the number of weekly flights to Larnaca will be reduced on three routes from Poland: from Katowice, Wrocław and Gdańsk.

Cyprus remains as popular as ever among Polish tourists. Articles from a few days ago: “Cyprus is the tourist hit of 2026 from Poland,” writes RMF24.pl, whilst the local Polish portal in Cyprus, cypr24.pl, confirms with data for 2025 that tourism on the Island of Aphrodite is largely driven by Poles. Why, then, has Wizz Air decided to reduce the number of flights to such a tourist hotspot? It is all down to the US-Israel war with Iran and fears about travelling to the Middle East.

Cyprus is a safe destination and there is no reason to fear travelling there. However, events in the region have deterred tourists, and faced with falling demand for travel, airlines are deciding to reduce the number of flights. A number of flights to Cyprus from Poland have been dropped from Wizz Air’s route network. From mid-May to mid-September, the number of flights from Gdańsk to Larnaca will be reduced from 3 to 2, and from Wrocław and Katowice from 4 to 3 times a week.
