Following the decision to close its base in northern Greece, Ryanair will be cancelling a number of flights from Thessaloniki at the end of October, including those to Poznań and Modlin.
The information comes from the Greek industry portal Omorfa Taxidia. Local journalists report that on 25 October, Ryanair will close its base in Thessaloniki, where three aircraft have been stationed since 2014. The reason? Fraport, the operator of Thessaloniki Airport, introduced a 15% increase in charges during contract renewal negotiations, which Ryanair was unwilling to accept. Unfortunately, as a result of this decision, from the start of the winter season it will no longer be possible to fly from Poznań and Warsaw-Modlin to northern Greece. Fortunately, the route from Thessaloniki to Kraków will still appear in the timetable.
