On 15 August 2025, Vietnam will abolish visa requirements for citizens of 12 countries, including Poland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and others, upon entry into the country. The maximum length of stay without a visa will be 45 days.
According to e.vnexpress.net, the Vietnamese authorities have decided to abolish visas for citizens of 12 countries: Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania, the Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Luxembourg and Switzerland. The regulations will come into force on 15 August 2025. This is surprising but great news for tourists. Visa-free travel is valid for a maximum of 45 days, which means that with a valid passport, citizens of 12 countries will be able to stay in Vietnam without a visa for up to 45 days.
The introduction of visa-free travel means savings and no unnecessary formalities. Tourists will save $25 (the cost of a 30-day single-entry visa) or $50 (the cost of a 90-day multiple-entry visa, useful for example when visiting Cambodia during a trip to Vietnam). Not needing a visa when going on holiday also means no stress associated with obtaining and completing a visa application, the frequent need to pay an additional fee for a passport photo and the uncertainty of whether the visa will be granted.
