The Italian airline will only fly from Lublin to the Italian capital until the end of October. The reason? Most likely, the demand for the new route was overestimated and passenger interest was too low.
It was supposed to be a hit, but it turned out to be a flop – this is how Aeroitalia's adventure at Lublin Airport can be summed up. The Italian airline launched a connection from Lublin to Rome on 22 March this year. The airport authorities saw a bright future for their airport in this route. Aeroitalia, a young Italian airline, despite fairly average reviews among Italian passengers, was to connect the Lublin province with the Italian capital and offer passengers the opportunity to travel to other parts of Italy on a single ticket. Unfortunately, not everything went according to plan and, as noted by Rynek Lotniczy, at the moment there is no route from Lublin to Rome in the winter flight schedule.
Why is Aeroitalia abandoning Lublin? Most likely, it is because the new route did not meet expectations. Too few passengers or a lack of interest in connecting flights on a single ticket meant that shortly after the launch, Aeroitalia switched to smaller aircraft, from Boeing 737s to Embraer 175s. Now, the route will disappear completely from Aeroitalia's flight schedule.
