Hungarian carrier Wizz Air has announced the suspension of flights to Glasgow at the end of the 2025 summer season. The decision means the airline's almost complete withdrawal from the Scottish market.
Wizz Air currently operates the only connection to Glasgow from Budapest. However, as announced by the airline, the last flight on this route will take place on October 25, 2025, just after the end of the summer season. After this date, the city will disappear from the carrier's network.
The decision to cancel the connection means that Wizz Air will almost completely withdraw from the Scottish market. The connection from Gdańsk to Aberdeen will remain the only route operated by the airline in this part of the United Kingdom.
This move is part of Wizz Air's strategy to optimize its route network, which is increasingly focusing on more profitable routes and markets with higher growth potential. Despite its withdrawal from Glasgow, the carrier continues to expand its presence in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans.
