Scoot Airlines is discontinuing its service between Berlin and Singapore from 28 March. This is a decision that will particularly affect residents of western Poland who use this route.
Scoot Airlines, a low-cost carrier belonging to the Singapore Airlines Group holding company, has announced its withdrawal from the Berlin market. This means that flights connecting the German capital to Singapore will disappear from the carrier's route network. The last flight between Berlin and Singapore was scheduled for 28 March this year.
Scoot's decision is bad news not only for German residents, but also for those in western Poland who used Berlin as a convenient departure point for long-haul routes. Berlin was one of the closest major airline hubs offering direct flights to Southeast Asia. Nevertheless, residents of southern Poland will gain from Scoot's launch of flights to Vienna.
